This is our super-simple single-serve recipe that you can whip up wherever the urge for something refreshing hits. We also love to add in special flavors like lemongrass-ginger and strawberry-mint. With just a few simple ingredients and tools—a shaker and a muddler—you can craft a wide variety of lemonades.
An Easy Lemonade for One (Base Recipe)
Serves 1. Can be multiplied
INGREDIENTS
- ⅓ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately
- 1½ large or 2 small lemons)
- 1 tablespoon superfine sugar, or to taste
- ½ c cold water
- Ice cubes
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour lemon juice into a glass, add superfine sugar, and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add water. Top with ice and enjoy.
Delicious Infused Lemonades, Four simple variations:

To add in additional ingredients as described below, start by adding the flavoring ingredients to a shaker with the superfine sugar and muddling them to bring out their flavors. Add the lemon juice and water. Shake and strain into a glass and top with ice. Save extra ingredients for garnish.

VARIATION #1: LEMONGRASS GINGER LEMONADE
INGREDIENTS
- 1 4-inch piece of lemongrass (bulb end), crushed, or ½ tablespoon of dried lemongrass
- 1 1” piece of ginger peeled and sliced
VARIATION #2: THAI CHILI AND BASIL LEMONADE
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Thai Bird chili (or half a jalapeño)
- 4 basil leaves
- Half a lime, sliced
VARIATION #3: STRAWBERRY MINT LEMONADE

- 3-4 ripe strawberries, hulled and quartered
- 2 mint leaves
VARIATION #4: LAVENDER HONEY LEMONADE
