According to the KAM Insights 2023 report, 40% of restaurant-goers now opt for non-alcoholic beverages, and the trend applies across the board from casual eateries up to Michelin-starred cuisine.

One of the preferred alcohol-free brands continuously chosen by Michelin restaurants is Wild Idol, a premium, naturally alcohol-free sparkling alternative to wine and Champagne. Wild Idol is now listed at more than 17 Michelin restaurants in the UK, including The Hand and Flowers, HIDE and Pollen Street Social.

The emergence of alcohol-free alternatives in prestigious restaurants reflects a broader trend towards moderation and inclusivity in fine dining. By offering meticulously crafted alcohol-free alternatives, Michelin-starred restaurants can ensure that all guests, regardless of their drinking preferences, can enjoy a sophisticated beverage that matches the calibre and prestige of the establishment’s cuisine.

Unlike traditional alcoholic wines or de-alcoholised products, Wild Idol’s range, including its Sparkling Rosé and Sparkling White 2021 vintages, is crafted using traditional winemaking techniques without ever containing alcohol. This commitment to authenticity and quality makes Wild Idol a great choice for discerning diners.

“We are delighted to see Michelin-starred restaurants embracing the demand for premium alcohol-free options.,” said Paul Beavis, CEO of Wild Idol. “We pride ourselves on offering sophisticated, authentic alternatives that meet the high standards of fine dining. It’s great to be featured in so many prestigious establishments.”

Commenting on the palate of Wild Idol wines, Johnny Smith, co-founder of Michelin-starred Luca restaurant in Clerkenwell, London, adds: “Wild Idol strikes the perfect balance of dryness and sweetness, with a clean finish that keeps the palate alive. Elegant, sophisticated, and refined, it’s an ideal match for the quality expected in Michelin-starred restaurants.”
