Description
Note: in case you’re unfamiliar, orange wine is made by exposing a white wine to the grape skins for a time (most of the time, they are removed).
We found the scent definitely identifiable as wine, with a sort of fruit cocktail, pineapple nose. The panel found the aroma very appealing. Once we tasted it, we found it not at all sweet, with pleasant, moderate carbonation. It had tartness and balanced acidity, coupled with a good mouthfeel. Some of the panel found this less complex than they had hoped, and that the finish did not linger. Others found it to be a welcome very dry sparkling option, with the added benefit of being orange wine—which is uncommon even in alcoholic versions.
