Your answers showed us the way to the best of the alcohol-free world—from spirits and key players to best cities and fun events—and made clear the passion and excitement that’s been growing in the AF industry...and we are here for it! Read on to discover the products, people, and places you chose as the best of the best in each category!
People, Places, and Events
We’re thrilled to share the long list of retailers that were named in this category this year. These New York-area brick-and-mortar/online shops were boosted to the top of the list by their fervent devotees.
There’s no denying Austin, Texas’s Sans Bar is the original in this category! Survey newcomers New York’s Absence of Proof and Brooklyn’s Third Place Bar were also met with a lot of enthusiasm!
With the AF travel category expanding dramatically this year, we can’t wait for our next outing! These three popular groups run trips across the U.S. and beyond!
The many great events this year were a fun reminder that the alcohol-free movement is here to stay and is anything but boring. These were your three favorite events of the year.
New York took the top spot again this year for our favorite city to find alcohol-free options. With awareness growing across the globe this is, as always, the race to win!
Thank you to the following people and all of the other mocktail creators out there for your amazing recipes and for bringing awareness to just how delicious AF can be!
With more than 20 names mentioned, this category created an awe-inspiring list of people doing great things in the alcohol-free world, including saving lives, helping others, and eliminating stigma around sobriety and not drinking. Thank you to all the nominees and the four most mentioned people!
In addition to continuing the success of Sans Bar, Austin, TX, the first alcohol-free bar in the U.S., this year Chris toured the country with his Sans Bar Tour, throwing parties in major cities from coast to coast. He continued mentoring record numbers of students interested in starting alcohol-free businesses through the Sans Bar Academy, and he hosted the first annual Sans Bar Academy awards in Reno, Nevada in partnership with the Dry Society Gala. In 2024 Chris is leading a group on an alcohol-free trip to Cuba, and plans to continue to focus on creating meaningful connections between people in a world that badly needs more of exactly that.
